We are one of the oldest universities in Europe.
Since 1361 we have been the home of scientists and scholars who have changed the world.

Our contribution to humanity: the universal joint, probabilistic calculus, abolition of torture, artificial insemination, measurement of electrical output (volt), safe cesarean delivery, fight against malaria, pneumothorax, cure for tuberculosis, structure of the central nervous system, serotonin, Golgi apparatus, the Nobel Prize winners Moneta, Natta, Rubbia and Golgi and much more.
